Currently predominated by houses with a large amount of private green space, the site lacks a transition from the private to public use that will sustain diverse groups of community to gather, live and work by. The triangle plaza is conceived as a binding agent fundamental to our site strategy: It coheres multiple housing needs, commercial and social facilities, and various community profiles without compromising structural, cultural and aesthetic integrity. The train track slope is transformed as an anchor point in the plaza together with improved stops for other major forms of public transit. The invisible networks on site - Lainzer tunnel, ORF satellites, underground parking and Lainz River - are further revealed via use of local materials, highlighting the site within regional context.
